Per Mertesacker praises Arsenal youngsters following EFL Cup win
Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has heaped praise on the club's youngsters after a number of them featured during their 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup. Right-back Reiss Nelson made his first start during the match, while Joe Willock and Josh Dasilva came off the bench to make their senior debuts. Mertesacker, who will take on the role of Arsenal academy boss at the end of the season, was full of complements for the homegrown prospects after the match.
