Report: Jon Toral signs Arsenal contract extension
Youngster Jon Toral has reportedly had his Arsenal contract extended for another season. The 20-year-old, who is on loan at Brentford in the Championship this season, was due to be out of contract this summer, but Arsenal have exercised a one-year option, according to The Independent. Toral joined Arsenal as a youngster from Barcelona along with Hector Bellerin 2011, but has struggled to make the same sort of impact as the latter because of multiple knee operations. This season at Brentford, the midfielder has scored six goals in 36 appearances, including a hat-trick in the Bees' 4-0 win over Blackpool in February.
