'Awful', 'Poor' - Arsenal fans left furious with £16.2m-rated star's display
There will be no fairytale ending for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, with the Gunners knocked out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage by Atletico Madrid. The Premier League club actually played well for long periods of both legs, but suffered a 2-1 aggregate defeat due to Diego Costa's goal in the second leg in the Spanish capital on Thursday night. Wenger selected the same XI from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, meaning that Jack Wilshere was again in a three-man midfield alongside Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey.
