Arsenal interested in shock swoop for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld ARSENAL are interested in signing Toby Alderweireld from arch-rivals Tottenham. By Jack Staplehurst / Published 11th May 2018 Spurs’ centre-half looks set to leave the club this summer due to his contract situation. No agreement over a new deal is forthcoming, with his current one expiring in 2019. Tottenham have the option to extend it by a further 12 months but would face losing him for just £20m at the end of next season.
