Arteta delivers telling Arsenal transfer update in response to Partey links
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to links with Thomas Partey - and appeared to hint that finances could get in the way of a deal. Atletico Madrid ace Partey has been tipped to head to north London and add a new, dynamic dimension to Arteta’s midfield moving forwards. The Spaniard was asked about spending 50m, Partey’s reported price tag, on a midfielder and whether that was realistic in the current climate. And he delivered a telling response which will no doubt worry some Arsenal fans by suggesting their spending power could be severely limited as feared due to the coronavirus pandemic.
