Loan Watch: Olayinka scores first senior goal
James Olayinka scored his first senior goal in emphatic fashion for Southend on Saturday. Our 20-year-old midfielder picked the ball up deep inside his own half before running the length of the pitch and converting smartly into the bottom corner.
Despite Olayinka's heroics, it was a day to forget for Southend, who were 2-0 down after 51 minutes against Boreham Wood at Meadow Park. Goals from Jamal Fyfield and Mark Ricketts gave the home side an early advantage, before Southend struck back through Brandon Goodship and Terrell Egbri to take the Emirates FA Cup clash into extra-time.
