Arsenal fans fume at 'VAR corruption' as Brentford score opening goal of season

Arsenal fans were left furious when their side fell a goal behind away at Brentford on Friday night, taking to social media to claim VAR should have prevented it from happening. The north London club are trailing Thomas Frank's newly-promoted side 1-0 in the first Premier League fixture of the 2021/22 campaign, with Sergi Canos firing home from inside the box to break the deadlock after 22 minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium. But Gunners fans are adamant that Canos' opener should not have stood, insisting VAR should have intervened to award the hosts a corner for the ball going out of play.
