Arsenal extend Granit Xhaka's contract ending link to Roma move

Arsenal have activated a clause in Granit Xhaka's contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2024. The move come after his links to Serie A giants Roma broke down earlier this month, with the Gunners deciding to extend his deal using a previous agreement. The Switzerland international's time in north London looked set to be coming to an end following his clash with fans back in 2019, but he is now firmly in the plans of Mikel Arteta. The move comes after their Premier League season got off to the worst possible start with a 2-0 loss against Brentford in which Xhaka played the full 90 minutes.
