Three things Mikel Arteta got right as Arsenal beat Brentford to maintain top four hopes

Mikel Arteta can force a half a smile after his Arsenal side picked up a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday afternoon to keep their top four ambitions alive. The Gunners were in charge for most of the occasion at the Emirates, but struggled to pull away in the opening period. The London rivals went in goalless at half-time, but Emile Smith Rowe managed to make the home side's pressure pay just after the break with a forceful finish from just inside the box. Brentford showed some signs of a fightback as the second half wore on, but Bukayo Saka doubled the lead with a fine finish with a little over 10 minutes left to play, rendering Christian Norgaard's effort a consolation goal.
