Roy Keane would be worth £94m today - while Alan Shearer more expensive than Neymar
Since its formation in 1992, the Premier League has more than played its part in some of the most outrageous transfer deals - with the likes of Alan Shearer, Roy Keane and Stan Collymore all commanding eye-watering price tags. Newcastle United forked out a club-record fee of £15m to bring Shearer back to the northeast in the summer of 1996, whilst in previous years Nottingham Forest held out for British and English transfer records before letting Keane and Collymore leave the City Ground.
