French club Bastia interested in Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini
Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has been linked with a move to French Ligue 1 side Bastia. The emergence of fellow countryman Francis Coquelin saw Flamini's first-team opportunities with the Gunners limited last term. Club captain Mikel Arteta has also reportedly signed a new contract, meaning the veteran Frenchman could be pushed further down the midfield pecking order next season. According to Eurosport France, Bastia have registered an interest in landing Flamini, although a deal is not thought to be close. Bastia would need Arsenal to agree to release the player from his current contract and for the 31-year-old to take a significant drop in salary for a deal to go through.
