Arsenal Preparing Bid For Real Madrid Striker Karim Benzema
It has been reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is monitoring Karim Benzema's situation at Real Madrid. El Confidencial claims that Wenger is plotting a swoop for Benzema – if he is frozen out by new boss Rafael Benitez. The French international has impressed since his move to the Bernabeu, but continues to be linked with a move away this summer. He has scored 20 goals in each of his last five seasons, but Benitez is reportedly planning to use Cristiano Ronaldo as a central striker, which could hamper the Frenchman's playing time.
