Wilshere injury nightmare continues
Although Arsenal expected the midfielder to return after the international break in September after suffering the injury in training on Saturday - reportedly at the hands of defender Gabriel - it has emerged that the knock is worse than first thought. Initial scans on the injured ankle have revealed a suspected hairline fracture of his left fibula, with an official prognosis expected on Friday. The 23-year-old, who missed around six months of last season with an ankle injury, sat out the Gunners' Community Shield victory over Chelsea on Sunday, after which Arsene Wenger insisted his star would only be out for "days".
