DONE DEAL: Arsenal striker pens new contract
NEW DEAL: Smith has extended her stay at Arsenal [GETTY] The former England ace, who retired from international duty earlier this month, is captain and assistant coach of the Gunners' ladies team. The length of Smith's contract extension has not been revealed, but it ensures she will feature for at least one more WSL campaign with the north London side. Smith, 36, is in her third spell with Arsenal, having previously spent time with the Boston Breakers, New Jersey Wildcats and Philadelphia Charge in the USA. Despite her declining influence on the Gunners' first-team, Smith netted the opening goal in last season's FA Cup final with Everton.
