Arsenal send scouts to watch £18m defensive midfielder
Most of the recent Arsenal transfer rumours have been surrounding the striker position, but we are still badly in need of reinforcements in defensive midfield. Bayer Leverkusen star Lars Bender is apparently a target of ours, with scouts sent to watch the club's recent Champions League qualifier against Lazio, according to Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb. Francis Coquelin is currently our only real option in the position, with Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta arguably no longer capable of performing the role. We can't rely on the Frenchman to be fit and in form for the entirety of the campaign, so we really need to bring someone in before the window slams shut at the end of the month....
