Arsenal transfer rumours: Gunners rejected summer approach for Nacho Monreal
Arsenal rejected a summer approach from Athletic Bilbao for Nacho Monreal, according to reports in Spain. The left-back has grown into a key member of the Gunners squad since joining for around £8m in January 2013. The Spaniard made 39 appearances last season and kept fellow full-back Kieran Gibbs out of the side. Those performances have unsurprisingly attracted interest from other clubs, none more so than Bilbao. And, according to Sport, Arsenal rejected an approach from the La Liga club in the summer for Monreal. The player was reportedly open to a move back to his homeland but Arsene Wenger had no interest in selling.
