Ian Wright slams 'embarrassing' Arsenal after Karim Benzema pursuit
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has slammed his former club's "embarrassing" pursuit of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema during the summer. The Gunners were linked with a £50m move for the Frenchman for much of the close season, but a deal failed to materialise, before he pledged his commitment to Real. "I thought the Benzema situation was embarrassing in the way they pursued it," Wright, Arsenal's second highest goalscorer of all time, told BT Sport.
