Gabriel red card overturned by FA

Arsenal have received a welcome boost ahead of their Capital One Cup clash with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with Sky Sports confirming the Gunners were successful in their appeal of Gabriel's wrongful dismissal. The Brazilian international received his marching orders from under-fire referee Mike Dean on Saturday against Chelsea after Gabriel's subtle flick of the heel toward Diego Costa. But as a result of the hearing, the player's automatic three-match suspension for violent conduct has been withdrawn making him available for Wednesday night's tie at White Hart Lane.
