£45m striker ‘flirted' with Arsenal switch this past summer
Karim Benzema was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this past summer, but the move never came to fruition. Spanish reporter Kike Marin claims a move was closer than many believed however, with the El Confidencial writer claiming he spent the summer flirting with Arsene Wenger regarding a switch. The Real Madrid star was tipped to make a £45m move to North London earlier in the summer (via the Daily Mail), but by the end of the window Arsenal fans were made to feel foolish for believing a move was ever likely to happen.
