Stats prove Mesut Özil is best playmaker in Europe
Mesut Özil has come in for a huge amount of criticism since his move to Arsenal, much of it totally unfounded. The stats (courtesy of whosccored.com) prove just how fantastic he's been however, and show that he's been the best playmaker in Europe's top five leagues so far this season. Özil has averaged 4.4 key passes a game so far this season, far and away the best in the continent. There are very few players who even come close to matching Özil's achievements, with Arsenal teammate Santi Cazorla one of the closest in fourth place with 3.6 key passes per game. 1.
