Man United challenge Arsenal for defensive midfield target
We have long been linked with a move for Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper, with a defensive midfielder high on our list of priorities. Manchester United have apparently joined the race for his signature though, and are looking to lure him to Old Trafford in January, as reported by the Daily Star. The report claims Arsene Wenger is keen on the 20-year-old, and may look to activate his £8.5m release clause in January. They claim we're facing competition from Manchester United though, with one of their scouts monitoring him during Barcelona's recent Copa del Rey game against Villanovense.
