REVEALED : Arsene Wenger Attempted To Sign Messi For Arsenal
It has been revealed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger made an attempt to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Messi's biographer Guillem Balague has previously claimed the Barcelona star is edging closer to a move to England. And on talkSPORT, he revealed the Gunners had an offer knocked back in 2003. “Real Madrid tried – so did Arsenal. At the time when Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas were agreed, the three of them were in the same team and Messi was approached as well,' he said.
