Per Mertesacker: Arsenal players want Wojciech Szczesny back after loan
Roma have said they hope to keep Wojciech Szczesny beyond the end of the season. Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has said the players would like goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to return to the club when his loan spell at Roma ends. Szczesny, 25, lost his place to David Ospina at the end of last season and was then pushed further down the pecking order by the summer arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea. Serie A outfit Roma have said they would like to make the Szczesny loan permanent. But The Mirror quoted Mertesacker as saying: "The team wants him back -- that's good for him.
