Arsene Wenger laughs off ‘tight spender' jibe, but will he actually sign any more superstars.
Over the years Arsenal haven’t exactly splashed the cash with manager Arsene Wenger growing a reputation as a man who doesn’t like to spend. That of course has changed recently with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil for a combined total of £72.5million, but it still hasn’t stopped the Gunner’s gaffer having to respond to criticism (via Daily Mail). During his press conference following the Dinamo Zagreb tie which saw them run out 3-0 winners, Wenger responded, “It’s you, the press, who give me that reputation, but my friends don’t think that.”
