Arsenal make Portuguese midfield star top January target (not Carvalho)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to react to his current midfield woes with a January move for Porto’s Danilo Pereira, according to reports from O Jogo. The Gunners chief is currently short of central options, with key names such as Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla having both been ruled out with long-term injuries. Wenger has been reliant on veteran star Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey – who he often uses in a more advanced role – since losing their pair, but reports (below) claim that with the January transfer window looming large he’s keen to draft in another player.
