Revealed: The real reason Mohamed Elneny hasn't moved to Arsenal
GETTY EL OF A PLAYER: Mohamed Elneny The FC Basel midfielder, 23, has agreed a four-and-a-half year deal and passed a medical with the Guners. But he failed to meet work permit regulations due to Egypt falling out of the top 50 in FIFA's rankings. The Gunners lodged an appeal which was successful but finalising the work permit is taking longer than expected. Starsport understand the move will be completed well before the end of the month. Elneny is expected to be Arsenal's only January signing although they are eyeing up moves for Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo. Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is also on their radar.
