Arsenal closing in on ideal Per Mertesacker replacement
Arsenal's inability to maintain a solid lead has cost them dearly over the last few matches. Luckily, they may have a great opportunity to fix their issues at the centre-back position if they finalize a move for AS Roma and Greece defender Kostas Manolas. According to the Metro, Arsenal are considering a move for Manolas with Arsene Wenger believing he might very well serve as a replacement for 31-year-old Per Mertesacker. Per the source, Manolas has been heavily scouted by Arsenal while Mertesacker has been relegated to the bench in recent competitions.
