Team News: Alexis & Mertesacker blow ahead of USA Tour
Arsenal will be without Per Mertesacker for ‘months' after the defender pulled up with a serious knee ligament damage in the wake of the Lens friendly, while Alexis is still recovering from his nasty ankle injury sustained in Chile's Copa America final win (via Arsenal.com). Wenger clarified that Alexis' injury is not a major concern, but will allow him further rest to ensure the Chilean is fully healed and recharged for the fast approaching new season.
