Barcelona Defender Suspends Talks With Club As Arsenal Launch Enquiry
Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry over the availability of Barcelona's defender Jeremy Mathieu, according to French media outlet SFR Sport. The Frenchman is thought to have delayed advanced talks with Besiktas, with Arsenal now pouncing as they look for reinforcements after the recent injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel. The Gunners are closing in on Shkodran Mustafi and it appears Arsene Wenger is taking further action to bring in another established centre-back in Mathieu before the transfer window ends.
