Arsenal Turned To Mustafi After Missing Out On No. 1 Target
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia; however, the Mirror report that the Gunners went all in for the La Liga defender only after missing out on their top target: Omer Toprak. The north London outfit are currently without Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista due to injuries, leaving Wenger’s side in dire need of a new center-back. Mustafi has long been linked with a move to the Emirates, but the Mirror claim that the German international wasn’t number one on Wenger’s list ahead of the player's speculated medical.
