Arsenal star reveals attempt to get Spurs man to join

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed he tried his best to get French international teammate Moussa Sissoko to join the Gunners, according to Le 10 Sport.  The latter was part of a month-long saga that eventually saw him leave Newcastle United for Tottenham Hotspur in a sensational Deadline Day move. Spurs are thought to have shelled out as much as £30m to land him ahead of Everton, who were also interested. After a largely disappointing spell for the Magpies last season, the 27-year-old's performances for Les Blues at Euro 2016 made him a hot property in the market.
