Arsenal ready to beat Tottenham to top summer transfer target
Reports in this morning's press are claiming that Arsenal could strike a major transfer blow to North London rivals Tottenham, by snatching their number one summer target from right under their noses. As the Daily Star tells us, Cologne defender Kevin Wimmer's £5m move to White Hart Lane looked to be signed and sealed, only for Arsene Wenger to have now thrown a spanner in the works. Despite signing Gabriel Paulista during the January transfer window, we're still a little bit light in terms of options at the back, with Wenger reportedly seeing 22-year-old Austrian international Wimmer as a fine future prospect.
