Emmanuel Petit explains why Arsenal will do much better next season
Wenger's Arsenal finished a disappointing sixth in the Premier League, not qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years. They did win the FA Cup, beating Chelsea 2-1 in the final, but suffered humiliation in the Champions League with a 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich to crash out at the last-16 stage for the seventh year in a row. Despite some sections of support wanting Wenger to leave at the end of his contract, the Frenchman signed a new two-year deal. Petit is pleased with the decision and says you cannot keep a club the size of Arsenal and a manager with Wenger's credentials quiet for long. N
