Robbie Fowler slams Arsenal and Barcelona over transfer spending: Chelsea did it right
This summer saw the most expensive transfer ever as Paris Saint-Germain paid a record £200million to Barcelona for Neymar. Barcelona responded by signing Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele for a club-record £135.5m. Arsenal broke their transfer record with the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette but attempted to smash that when they made a £92m bid for Thomas Lemar. But former Liverpool striker Fowler has questioned Arsene Wenger’s mindset in deciding to splash that amount of money on someone who only impressed in one season at Monaco.
