Catalonia XI: Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal stars included in star-studded line-up

The prospect of the Spanish national team losing their Catalan-born players is becoming very real. Following Sunday’s Catalonia independence referendum – where voters were asked whether they wish Catalonia to become an independent republic from Spain – the futures of players from the region were brought into question. Barcelona defender Gerard Pique revealed he would quit the Spanish national side if his pro-Catalonia independence views were judged to be a ‘problem’ by the country’s governing body.
