Atletico Madrid are closing in on a January deal for Arsenal target Lautaro Martinez. The 20-year-old forward has caught the eye for Racing Club in his native Argentina with the Gunners, Real Madrid and Monaco all keeping close tabs on him. But, according to Argentinean outlet Ole, it is Atletico Madrid who are now the frontrunners to land him, with a New Year switch potentially on the cards. It has been suggested that Atletico have agreed a £10.75m deal for Martinez, who scored nine goals in 23 league appearances last term. The switch is expected to go through once the window opens – and Atletico are allowed to make signings again, following their Uefa transfer embargo.
