Ronald Koeman's Everton suffered a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal at Goodison Park
Everton took the lead against the Gunners courtesy of Wayne Rooney strike's on 12 minutes after Granit Xhaka gifted the ball away in his own half. Nacho Monreal got the Gunners level just before the break before the away side turned it up a notch in the second half. Mesut Ozil nodded home Alexis Sanchez’s cross on 53 minutes to put Everton behind as the Goodison Park faithful booed Koeman from the stands. The task for Everton was made even harder when Idrissa Gueye received his marching orders with just over 20 minutes to go for a late tackle on Xhaka.
