Report: Arteta believes he could be key to Arsenal landing player he rates as fantastic addition
Arsenal are ready to step up their efforts to bring Manchester City's John Stones to the club in the summer, according to TEAMtalk. What's the word? Mikel Arteta is believed to be very keen on the England international, having worked with him at the Etihad, but there could be a battle for his signature. Stones signed for City in 2016 for £47.5m and it is reported that it may take a similar fee to land the centre-back, however the Gunners may be prepared to pay such a price. It is thought that Everton and Tottenham are also interested in the 25-year-old, but given Arsenal are in 'desperate need' of defensive reinforcements, they may be the most willing to meet City's valuation.
