Alex Song didn't ‘give a f***’ about Barcelona game time because of his wages

Former Arsenal star Alex Song has revealed how ahead of a move to Barcelona he was told he would not play very much, but that he “didn't give a f***” as he would become a millionaire. Senegal midfielder Song left Arsenal in 2012 after a six year spell to join La Liga giants Barcelona for £15m, signing a five-year contract in Catalonia. The 32-year-old was used sporadically at the Nou Camp, making around 20 league appearances per season for two years before being sent out on loan to West Ham for another two seasons.
