Premier League announce two positive COVID-19 tests from two clubs days ahead of restart

The Premier League have confirmed two positive coronavirus tests from different clubs just days ahead of the top flight restarting. The eighth round saw 1,200 tests undertaken across all 20 teams. Trending The first seven rounds of COVID-19 testing saw 14 positives and 7,474 negatives. The Premier League is set to restart on Wednesday with two matches as Aston Villa face Sheffield United and Manchester City take on Arsenal. The identity of those who tested positive has been kept confidential but if they are players they will be ruled out of upcoming matches for their clubs as they will need to self-isolate.
