Arsenal enter transfer race for Gabriel Magalhaes despite Man Utd 'offer'
Arsenal are now reportedly in a position to land Lille central defender Gabriel Magalhaes, dealing a blow to Manchester United. The Brazilian has a host of European suitors this summer following his Ligue 1 exploits in recent months. Napoli were the initial front-runners, before the likes of United and Everton joined the race for his signature. But French outlet France Bleu Nord report Arsenal are now 'in a position' to land the 22-year-old in the near future. The defender will command a fee of around 27m (£24.3m) up front and 2m (£1.8m), which United have apparently offered in recent days.
