Mikel Arteta has been told to take the handbrake off Thomas Partey to get the best out of him. The Ghana international was a top target throughout the transfer window for the Arsenal boss. He was desperate to add some steel to the centre of the pitch. There are any technical players at the Gunners but none can be called an out-and-out defensive midfielder. Partey was a star for Atletico Madrid last season in that position, in arguably his best year as a professional.
