Former Arsenal flop is now Mikel Arteta's main man - and the stats prove it
Mohamed Elneny returned for Arsenal this evening in their convincing win over Rapid Vienna. The Egyptian has missed recent games after a positive covid-19 test result while on international duty. Elneny was once seen as having no chance of a future at Arsenal, struggling to make a name for himself under Arsene Wenger or Unai Emery. But the 28-year-old tonight showed once again he is important to Mikel Arteta 's side. Elneny was replaced on the hour-mark by Dani Ceballos, receiving an ovation from the 2000 fans inside the Emirates, as he is sure to play a part against Tottenham this weekend.
