Robin van Persie asked Wenger to sign 'killer' Juventus defender for Arsenal

Robin van Persie has admitted that he asked Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to sign a “killer” Juventus defender. The Dutchman spent eight seasons with the Gunners, scoring 132 goals in nearly 300 appearances. His only silverware came in the forward’s first season with the FA Cup before moving to Manchester United and winning the 2012/13 Premier League title. Van Persie captained Arsenal for the 2011/12 season – and revealed that he also took on the role of recruitment with a recommendation.
