Mikel Arteta warned of dressing room reaction to Mesut Ozil decision
Mikel Arteta recalling Mesut Ozil to the Arsenal squad could ‘diminish his credibility’ with the rest of his players. That’s the view of Graeme Souness, who now believes the decision to omit the World Cup winner will be questioned by Gunners bosses. The Spaniard decided to leave Ozil out of his Premier League and Europa League squads at the start of the season, leaving him nothing more than an interested spectator. Ozil’s contract at the Emirates expires at the end of the season, with the German claiming he still wants to end his career in north London on a high.
