Ian Wright questions Edu transfer decision as former Arsenal star impresses
Ian Wright has explained his frustration at Arsenal’s decision to sell Emiliano Martinez. Arsenal decided to part ways with Martinez in the summer transfer window after the goalkeeper demanded playing time. He had impressed when brought into the side for the injured Bernd Leno, and was part of the FA Cup-winning side. The Gunners started shopping him around shortly afterwards, and eventually offloaded him to Villa for a fee in the region of £15.6million. Since then, he’s gone on to become Dean Smith’s first-choice goalkeeper, and has been a key part of the side.
