Aubameyang says mum on mend after "health issues" as he explains Arsenal absence

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed he missed Arsenal’s last two matches because his mother has been ill in hospital. The Gunners striker was left out of Mikel Arteta’s squad for their recent double-header against Southampton, which saw them beaten 1-0 in the FA Cup fourth round at St Mary’s on Saturday before returning to claim a 3-1 win in the Premier League on Tuesday. And Aubameyang has taken to social media to reveal he has been taking care of his mum, who is now on the mend after suffering with some “health issues”. “Hey guys,” he said in a statement posted on Twitter.
