Joan Laporta winning the Barcelona presidential election could be good news for Arsenal - after it was confirmed he was not looking to poach Mikel Arteta to become the club’s new manager. Laporta was revealed as the successor to Josep Maria Bartomeu on Sunday night with more than 54 per cent of the vote. Reports had emerged that the 58-year-old, who returns for a second spell after overseeing the highly successful period between 2003-2010, was keen to replace Ronald Koeman with Arteta.
