Former Arsenal star Shkodran Mustafi scores comical own-goal in Schalke drubbing

Former Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi was left red-faced after scoring a disastrous own-goal in Schalke’s 5-0 defeat away at Wolfsburg on Saturday. Mustafi, who called time on his four-and-a-half-year spell with the Gunners to join Dimitrios Grammozis’s side last month, headed past his own goalkeeper to give Wolfsburg the lead in their humiliating five-goal drubbing. As the hosts tried to venture into the box at the Volkswagen Arena, Schalke centre-back Malick Thiaw desperately tried to get a foot on the ball and ended up knocking it in the path of Mustafi.
