Arsenal stars checking Mikel Arteta job is safe before renewing contracts
Mikel Arteta retains the support of most of his Arsenal players despite a disastrous season at the Emirates. Arsenal's Europa League defeat to Villarreal last week effectively ended their campaign and pressure is growing on their inexperienced manager. The Gunners looked to have turned a corner after a record-breaking 14th FA Cup triumph in August last year but Arteta has not managed to build on that progress in an underwhelming first full campaign in charge. The North London club are still reeling from their Europa League semi-final exit which means they face their first season without European competition in 25 years.
